Day 15, Monday:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Wow, it's 2007!! We saw in the New Year at the wedding which turned out to be the best New Years Party either of us had been to in many a year!
Today we basically rested at home, we were all pretty tired from the night before. Ben came around with breakfast for us all, so we enjoyed coffee and donuts and sat around talking for ages, and I spent at least 2 hours on here updating the blog!! Debbie and Mike invited Apple and Pop over for dinner, Mike made ribs and chicken and Debbie made cornbread, rice, green beans and salad- so we all had a feast! Ben, Alison and Phil were here too, so the house was packed!
After dinner Ben and James headed out to Cheers to play pool but they arrived back shortly after since all the bars were closed tonight, so they went down to the basement with Steve and played the x-box and ended up watching The Da Vinci Code. Mike, Debbie and I stayed upstairs and watched that Antonio Banderas movie Take the Lead on pay-per-view (it was ok...) Another late night tonight.
Day 16, Tuesday:
Today didn't start off too well... without going into all the gory details we found out at about 8am this morning that our house was robbed sometime over the last couple of days. A lot of things have gone but what we're most upset about losing is James' guitar and a couple of items of jewellery of mine that had very special sentimental value. It's now around 5.45pm and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it all day. It's hard being away from home when something like this happens as we're just not there to sort things out- of course, if we were there, chances are it wouldn't have even happened. Anyway, I've been going through the 'what if I'd done this or that' but that's pointless. I've decided that for the moment there's really not all that much I can do, so it's better to try to put it out of my mind and concentrate on enjoying the rest of our holiday.
We went downtown with Debbie today as she goes back to work tomorrow and that's when we're off to New Jersey... we had fun walking around, took a few more photographs and had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory (wasn't in the mood to sample any cheesecake though unfortunately but lunch was good- I got the cobb salad... enough to feed a family of four!!). We just got home and are about to go out for dinner with Apple and Pop who really wanted to take us out before we left... and we're running out of opportunities. I think we're going to Chili's.
The events of today have made me feel completely sick and very homesick... but I'm trying hard to be positive for now.
Tomorrow we're off to Jersey for a couple of days so I may not be able to update this til we get back on Saturday.

Hang in there guys! ALL is not lost, and hopefully most of it can be replaced. Sounds like you're feasting daily and watching some pretty crappy movies, well done!!

We miss you tons and are anxiously awaiting your return. It's going to be 40 tomorrow, so we'll be in the kiddie pool out back.

James can come over and play my geeter to make him feel better.

We have eaten and drank ourselves into a toxic coma, so I suggested we go off the booze and fat and sugar for a week to detox. Matt's not all that enthused, but I think it'll do us good.

We made the BEST homemade dahl makhani last night. There's a farting joke in there somewhere...

Enjoy the rest of your trip!!

I'm so sorry about the robbery guys. If there's anything you need done in the meantime before you get back, just let us know and we'll make it so.

Ohh thanks guys, you are wonderful friends, as are all the people who have sent emails and offers of assistance. I'm pretty sure everything that was taken were items we can temporarily live without, we'll just have to organise the whole insurance thing when we get home.

We really appreciate your support & miss you guys a lot!
