Hi there! I don't have too much time to chat right now- it's just gone 9pm and with it has gone my "before-work" bedtime! But I realised that it's been a while since my last blog entry, so wanted to write a quick update.
James and I have both been working hard- he did an extra day this week which will mean a nice bonus in his paycheck this week (which he reckons is going towards a new tattoo?!) I had a fairly easy week really, it was my week of only 2 days on so I continued on my scrapbooking rampage for a day or so and attempted to get some cleaning and tidying done.
I should probably explain about the scrapbooking really: a couple of weeks ago 2 friends and I went to a beginners class and had some fun, and I thought it was something I could probably get into... then since then I kept stumbling across photographs of me at all different ages and different bits of memorabilia my mum had kept of mine from school and at different times of my life. Since her birthday I have been feeling pretty sentimental so I decided to make an effort to scrapbook all of the things she'd kept (cards, drawings of mine, letters I'd written her etc) as well as all the photographs I had. It's funny really, I'm now exactly the age she was when she had me and I've been thinking about that a lot, also the fact that it's my big 30th this year and thought it was the perfect time to scrapbook my life thus far. I know my mum would have totally gotten into it if she was still here so I guess I'm doing it for her in a way. Also, I think it's a cool thing to have when James and I eventually have kids so I can show them all different things from my childhood and growing up. Anyway, James has been concentrating his efforts on his favourite x box game and I have been concentrating my efforts on crafts! Haha, we are such a stereotypical boy and girl :-)
We had a pancake night on Friday night with a few friends as Michelle happened to have a big tin of pure maple syrup that we thought needed to be consumed- and James ended up making such massive pancakes we were all full after just one... but the maple syrup was very yummy, thanks Chelle!! (Sorry to make you sit through Talladega Nights though!)
This weekend Carla had a work trip to Sydney so I helped to babysit Little James yesterday and today while his daddy was at work. We had fun together, he is very cute and I made sure I took lots of pics on my phone to send to Carla to make sure she didn't miss him too much!!
James decided that he wanted to have a bbq today so he took Little James with him to get the gas bottle refilled and then onto the supermarket which he seemed to handle with ease... it gives me hope for our future offspring :-) James was obsessed with the idea of a "giant hamburger" which he ended up accomplishing, much to his great delight (he informed me, post-consumption, that the meat and the bacon was making love in his stomach!!)
So, that's really all I have time for right now... will update again maybe towards the end of the week- so til then, have a great week all!
