I'm going to write a quick post now because I'm not sure when I'll get time in the coming days. Besides which, we'll mainly be packing, working and (eventually) moving so there will be even less to tell you than there normally is :-)
I haven't gotten around to getting those ultrasound pics onto a disk yet, but I'll try to do it over the weekend. It's coming up to my weekend off, and it'll be my last weekend off before we move (which is funny to now say with a definite air of truth since I've been telling people that for a couple of months now: "No sorry, can't make it as we'll have to pack- it's my last weekend off before we move, you know...") Saturday is my Nana's 95th birthday (WOW) so James and I will be heading up to see her sometime in the morning if all goes to plan, and then we'll be spending the rest of the weekend throwing away furniture into the rubbish skip we hired that arrived this morning. Before you ask, no, I won't be lifting and heaving furniture- but apparently James wanted me around so I could okay what gets thrown and what gets kept. Unfortunately for us when we moved here we'd kept a variety of miscellaneous furniture items that really were only good to be landfill- but I guess since most of it was in storage we didn't have much choice other than to bring it here and use it to stuff our shed. I'll be glad to clean things out once and for all though, I hate hoarding and just keeping things for the sake of it, especially what can only be described as "junk".
So that's about where we stand with moving- still slowly packing and about to book the moving truck which James will drive like he did last time so we can move ourselves- and getting ready to be given the keys of our new place on or around August 13th. It's a bit overwhelming, we still have so much to do- but we'll get there!
In other family news, Maureen had her second hip replacement last Thursday and came through exceptionally well. She even went home yesterday afternoon, at least 2 days before they had told her she could, so is now continuing her speedy recovery in the comfort of her own home. She's feeling really good and walking really well with the aid of a frame or walking sticks. It was brilliant that they managed to bump her up the list as she's been told at her last appointment on June 27th that it would be at least a 12-month wait - then she was in within the month! After the operation, she found out that due to the hip actually disintegrating she had lost one centimetre of height- not as bad as her right hip where she'd lost two, but terrible and very painful nonetheless!
The baby is doing fine, moving around like crazy now- I was lying in bed this morning and watching my tummy bounce around, haha. It's the strangest but most amazing feeling. She's definitely a strong little thing :-)
I'll update again when I have some time- hope all is well in your part of the world xx
