Remember a while ago I said that our camera died the night of James' birthday party? Well, I managed to download the few shots we captured and here they are! (Nothing too special I must warn you, but I'll post them nonetheless!)
What a funny group of photographs... and there's not even any of James! Haha!
***************************
James is kissing some extinct replica while Ryan tries to ignore him...
Taken directly after the previous shot, our group makes it's way towards the Caves visitor centre... James is wearing my hat doing a little jig...
This is inside Wet cave looking up at the railing- obviously taken near the entrance, this cave goes inwards approximately 150 metres.
One of the stalagmite/stalagtite formations in Alexandra cave- pictures don't do them justice!! They are very beautiful!
Lynn & Ryan's tent is on the left, Emily & Matt's tent is on the right... and the tent we borrowed (from Lynn's parents) is in the middle!! We LOVED this tent... it's definitely old school, requiring 3 of us to put it up and taking about 30 minutes, but it is the coolest tent ever!! James thought he might put a chair and table in there and wear a scarf on his head while reading people's palms... haha
"The group" (some looking a little more worse for wear than others) getting ready to pack up and go home... The little girl on the right is from a neighbouring campsite- what the HECK is she doing?!?! What a disturbing photograph!!
Hope this finds everyone well
James still hasn't managed to get around to telling you all about his magpie episode, but I know that he's still planning to. We haven't been home all that much lately; last weekend was the Labour Day long weekend, and we went camping with Lynn, Ryan, Emily and Matt over to the "Limestone Coast"- Naracoorte to be exact. We camped in the Naracoorte Caves National Park and we had a brilliant time- although I have to use the term "camping" very loosely, as we all had air mattresses and sipped on champagne whilst sampling hors d'oeuvres such as cashew, parmesan and basil dip and crackers... extremely civilised really :-)
It was soooo nice to be away for the weekend, we all really needed a break and Naracoorte is only around 3.5 hours East-ish of Adelaide so it makes it a very do-able short break. It's also very near the Coonawarra wine region which actually makes it a PERFECT short break :-)
On Sunday morning we explored the National Park's Wet Cave and then Alexandra Cave a couple of hours later. In the afternoon the boys wanted to do a 2 hour hike while us girls saw the ominous clouds and decided a trip to the Coonawarra might be more our style so after visiting Russett Ridge Winery in Naracoorte itself we drove 15 or so minutes over to the Coonawarra and visited Brands of Coonawarra and Rymill's (no time for others unfortunately)- the wines are just beautiful, and although I was the designated driver, it didn't stop me from (responsibly) sampling several varieties!! We headed home mid-morning on Monday, and got home early afternoon which worked out really well as I had to work that night, plus we had a mountain of housework to do... urrggghhh, back to reality :-S
Here are some shots from our holiday away:

Well, I'm finally off to bed after working last night- one more night to go in my set of 3, then a couple of days off! James worked a 6 day week this past week and is STILL recovering from them snuggled up in bed!
Hope this finds everyone well
