Well, as the little timeline above indicates, I am now due in 4 days. 4 DAYS!! Oh my God. Actually, at this point, I am quite ready for the little one to arrive whenever she wants to, but there are no signs of an impending arrival as yet, so I'll have to keep on hoping :-) I had my 39 week appointment with the midwives last Thursday who gave me some tips on inducing labour, most of which are old wives tales I think- perhaps worth giving a go though. And if she's not here by the end of this week, I'll be willing to try just about anything! Apparently she has moved more into the middle of my tummy which is where she's supposed to be but she's still facing the wrong way, so let's hope labour will make her turn around!
The last week or two have gone very slowly- the first week of maternity leave I spent a lot of time catching up with friends and family and this last week I've spent a lot more time at home and that's been really nice, just to sit and rest- I've been getting really tired so it doesn't take too much for me to feel pooped. I have managed to watch the whole first half of season one of Prison Break (very productive, hehe) and I have also finished a cross stitch for our little girl's nursery which I will frame once she's born and I can put her birthday on it too. I started it literally months ago, virtually as soon as I found out I was pregnant, but then it fell by the wayside a bit with the house move and then I forgot about it... but it's done now and I'm really happy with it. James teases me and tells me I'm obsessed with the baby's room- personally, I wouldn't use the word 'obsessed' but I just want it to be perfect for her :-) There's not much else to say about the baby really- now we're just waiting, waiting, waiting... and we'll obviously update again once we know more! Ohh, she has the hiccups again, haha, she gets them all the time :-)
In other news, we finally got our new furniture including a new lounge suite and dining setting which is GREAT- a bit of a bugger that some items were damaged so we have to wait for replacements- but at least the bulk of it is fine and it looks really nice. I love the lounge, makes watching Prison Break much more comfy :-) And we can now have people around for tea and eat at a table- it's amazing :-) James is outside working very hard today at filling up a big rubbish bin full of cardboard, the old lounge and miscellaneous household garbage we've been accruing out in our back yard since we moved here. It's going to be great getting rid of it all! I'm spending the day inside organising a bunch of books in our spare room- in fact, that's where I am now- they're all behind me so if I just turn around I can see all the work I have to do- so best just to keep typing :-) Today was the big Christmas Pageant in the city which I watched on TV- was thinking about going, but there were 350,000 other people in the city to see it and I didn't feel like contending with them- besides, I can't stand up for longer than about 30 minutes without needing a rest so I would have been useless anyway :-)
Actually, I do have to go, I think we're going to do some food shopping soon so I have to work out what we need before we go- so mundane...
I'll update again towards the end of the week and let you know what's happening...
